Katrina & Andrew

Katrina and Andrew travelled from Australia with their children, family and close friends a destination wedding in France, where their love story began a decade earlier. It was a surprise wedding for their guests, at the luxurious Intercontinental hotel in Bordeaux, in the heart of the historic city.

A destination wedding in France organized in 5 weeks by Agence Charlotte Poésie, who created the design according to the tastes of the bride and groom: gold, red, white, modern and elegant.

A concierge service to find the wedding dress was requested by Katrina, who wanted an haute couture dress, bought in Paris from Elie Saab, 2 days before her wedding.

Wedding Day timeline & style

The day began in the afternoon. Katrina and Andrew getting ready in 2 of the hotel’s suites with a make-up artist and hairdresser, and a baby sitter looking after their 3 children from that moment until the end of the evening.

The guests arrived in the hotel lobby where they were taken to the Sauternes Room, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for a secular ceremony with an officiant.

After the ceremony, accompanied by classical musicians, the guests and the bride and groom enjoyed cocktails and a tasting of Bordeaux wines and champagnes on the hotel’s rooftop. It was completely private until the end of the evening, with a live band and catering workshops.

The newlyweds and their guests headed to the Sauternes lounge for their star-studded dinner created by the chef. During the dinner, they were accompanied by a pianist, and had the chance to do some karaoke.

The end of the evening was a lot of fun, with cocktails, a DJ set on the rooftop and a Jacuzzi.
