Our loving couple lives in Paris, so they chose to delegate the organization of their wedding to us in the Bordeaux region. Passionate about travel and madly in love with Italy, they wanted a venue full of charm, and to recapture that romantic Italian inspiration in small ways, while remaining modern in style. Planning & styling of this day
The couple’s preparations took place at Château le Thil, a wine estate just a stone’s throw from Smith Haut Lafitte. The couple had reserved the suites of the château hotel. Then, in the middle of the afternoon, a secular ceremony took place in the shade of the park’s trees. A modern, elegant wedding ceremony in full white, with an arch of white flowers, a ceremony aisle with a white carpet and floral arrangements lining the chairs.
The dress code was elegant and neutral, with guests dressed in beige, white and black, to great effect. The bridesmaids were all dressed in beige. The groomsmen all wore black suits with bow ties, for a beautiful effect.
The cocktail party then took place on the lawns of Château Smith Haut Lafitte. A live band accompanied this moment of relaxation and gastronomy. A Spritz bar and a few mozzarella and tomato workshops were a reminder of our lovers’ love of Italy.
The design was elegant, with mirrored columns for the welcome and tabletop, and alluded to the couple’s love of travel: “In Paris, In Italy, In Jordan, In Tahiti, In Malaysia, Anywhere but together”. These were the destinations of the lovers’ planned honeymoon. The tables also referred to these destinations.
For this modern, elegant wedding full white at Château Smith Haut Lafitte, we played with full white, mirrors, especially for the tableware, and a few touches of pale grey. The Venetian chandeliers and starry sky in the reception room gave the dinner a magical, Italian feel.
The couple finished the evening with a DJ performer, accompanied by a saxophonist to set the mood on the dance floor.
